Privacy Policy
EFFECTIVE DATE · JUNE 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to Reelshelf (“the app,” “we”), an iOS app made by BiBi Builds LLC. It explains what data the app touches and what we do — and don't do — with it. It's short because Reelshelf is designed to keep your data on your device.
01
The Short Version
- •We don't run any servers, accounts, or analytics. Reelshelf has no backend.
- •Everything you see in the app — your videos, identified songs, notes, lists, favorites — lives on your iPhone.
- •We never collect, see, or transmit your personal information.
02
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- •Your name, email, phone number, or contact information
- •Your location
- •Your videos or photos
- •Analytics, usage tracking, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints
- •Crash reports or diagnostics beyond what iOS reports to Apple by default
Reelshelf does not include any third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking.
03
What Reelshelf Processes on Your Device
To group your videos by song, Reelshelf needs to do a few things locally on your iPhone:
- •Read videos from your Photos library. With your permission, the app scans videos you've recorded and extracts a short audio sample from each.
- •Identify songs in those videos. The app uses Apple's ShazamKit framework to match each audio sample against Apple's music catalog and learn the song title and artist.
- •Save what it learns on your device. Identified songs, your custom lists, favorites, video notes, and event details are stored in a local database on your iPhone.
None of this information leaves your device or goes to BiBi Builds LLC.
04
Photos Library Access
Reelshelf asks for permission to read your Photos library so it can find videos to scan and play them back inside the app. We only read videos; we don't read photos or any other content, and we don't upload anything. You can revoke this access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Reelshelf.
05
ShazamKit and Apple Music
To identify the song in a video, ShazamKit generates an audio “fingerprint” — a compact mathematical representation of the audio — and sends it to Apple's music-matching service. Reelshelf never sends the original audio or video. Apple processes the fingerprint and returns the matched song's metadata, which Reelshelf stores locally on your device.
Apple's ShazamKit requires that you be signed in to Apple Music on the device (a free Apple ID works; no subscription is required). This is an Apple system requirement; BiBi Builds LLC does not see or store your Apple ID.
How Apple handles the fingerprints is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
06
iCloud Photos (Optional)
If you have iCloud Photos enabled on your device, some of your videos may live in iCloud rather than fully downloaded to your iPhone. By default, Reelshelf does not download iCloud-only videos. You can opt in via Settings → Scan iCloud videos.
When you opt in, Reelshelf asks iOS to download those videos through your existing iCloud setup. The download happens between Apple and your device — Reelshelf never sees or transmits the file itself. Standard cellular data and battery may apply.
07
Purchases
Reelshelf offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock the full library. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We receive a confirmation that an unlock was purchased; we do not receive your payment details, name, or Apple ID. Refunds and billing are handled by Apple per their standard policies.
08
Third-Party Services
Reelshelf relies only on Apple's built-in frameworks (PhotoKit, ShazamKit, StoreKit, AVFoundation). No third-party analytics, advertising, or networking services are included.
09
Sharing Your Information
We have no information about you to share. We do not sell, rent, or disclose user data to anyone, because we do not collect it in the first place.
10
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your data stays on your device, you control its lifetime entirely. To remove everything Reelshelf has stored:
- •Delete the Reelshelf app from your iPhone. iOS removes the app's local database along with it.
Apple may retain transaction records and ShazamKit usage data per their own policies.
11
Children's Privacy
Reelshelf is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, regardless of age. If you believe a child has interacted with Reelshelf in a way that raises a concern, please contact us — though there is no account or personal data to remove.
12
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the “Effective date” above and post the revised version on this page. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
